It’s the time for me to rest and replenish before I once again build a bridge for my beloved muse and friend, Anthony Newley and I to meet. To gather and explore more deeply this sacred connection and the work the so-called living and the so-called dead can do together for the betterment of both worlds. I can’t think of another time in my current life where this collaboration was more important.
To that end, due to the tremendous generosity of my dear friend Pam, I’ll be going to the Monroe Institute for the Serving Spirit mediumship weekend taught by Suzanne Giesemann at the end of this month. I particularly wanted to go because Suzanne is one of the few mediums who earns Dr. Raymond Moody’s respect. While I continue to maintain that I am not a medium, Suzanne helps those who wish to connect with higher level benign beings or with our own higher self with more ease, grace and consistency. I’ll be sure to write about that when I return.
Finally, I’ll be releasing my book on Sunday, Nov. 3rd.
It may take up to 72 hours for it to go live on Amazon. So, when the book is
live, I’ll come back here and post a link for Amazon. You’ll see I’m launching
the Kindle Edition at a very special and temporary price of $.99. That offer
won’t last long so I hope you take advantage of it. (Amazon won’t let me do
much for the paperback. Sorry.)
Keep your eyes open for the official release! And as
always, thank you for your support of this surprising adventure.
Well. Finally. The book is finished. The editing. The interior formatting for paperback and all the various eBook distributors. The book cover. The promotional copy. All. Done. (Deep exhale).
It took a major change in my life and dealing with the subsequent trauma in order to be in a place to write this book. This book which I think is the beginning of my work for the last years of my life. This book which began on the winter solstice of 2017. This book which demands me to launch not only it but myself as well, into…what?
Well…a different place than I ever expected to be. A place that will undoubtedly force me further from my comfort zone as the writing of this book already has. But as I look around me at the country, at the world, that I inhabit is pushed to the brink, perhaps there are no more comfort zones…for any of us.
What my book offers is one way, one very important way, for each of us to navigate the coming years with more support, more guidance, more – love. Reclaiming a source of guidance lost long ago but slowly coming back. As things stand, we may not have the luxury of slowly any more. So I hope this book will inspire you to step forward…to launch yourself into a cleaner, clearer, better place.
I am going to take a few weeks to learn how to launch this book with some small skill. As I do, I may send out a quick blog soliciting your help. We’ll see. This is new to me as I didn’t even realize books needed launching beyond simply making them available for purchase. There’ll be a new page on this blog as well as a Facebook page dedicated to the book, your thoughts and comments.
Thank you all for joining me on this adventure. The book will be launched this fall.
It’s so important to pay attention to the subtle machinations of the universe. If we quietly listen, we’ll begin to notice the inner guidance there for us, for all of us, to follow. Revealing the path for us to take. I learned quite a while ago that I have a council of wise inner planes teachers who’ll point the way if I merely quiet down and pay attention.
So I finished the work with the editor of my new book and was ready to move into the next phases – book cover design, interior formatting, metadata and promotional copy. Since my first experience with the group that put me in touch with my editor, I naturally figured to go on to this next phase with them. To that purpose, I spent hours filling out their questionnaire, offering samples of book covers I liked, so many questions I painstakingly answered in great detail and saved to their site…I thought. I also asked my inner planes guides to make it very clear to me what the right choice would be. Don’t make me guess.
A week later when I was ready to send off all this material to the various designers, my questionnaire was gone. Gone. Hours of work just gone. (Please save the, “What, you didn’t save all that to your hard drive too?” I already feel like a proper idiot.)
I could feel the beginnings of panic but I stopped myself and listened in. I was guided to contact the founders of this group and ask for help. They had none and said they’d never had anything like that happen before. Hmmmm. Thank you, guides.
Then I felt a nudge to check with a different company whose work I liked and asked them some questions. They got back to me in a very reasonable amount of time but it was like we were speaking in different languages. They also had no phone number to speak to an actual person. Yes – I’m an old person who sometimes likes direct contact with the people who will help bring my book to life. Hmmmm. Thank you, guides.
In the meantime, I received an email from a different company I was interested in, had emailed and had never heard anything back from. She was checking back to see if the email she’d sent had answered all of my questions. What email? I never got one. Well, not only did she answer all of my questions but she also has a phone number her clients may call anytime. Hmmmm! Thank you, guides!
Her company is working on all of the above and will help me with marketing as well.
I guess what I’m trying to share with you is – sometimes those things that look like the worst luck, the biggest disaster, actually turn out to be your best luck, your path.
My book will likely be ready in about a month or so but I am going to take a little time to launch and market it better than I did my last book. I’ll start by adding a page to this blog just for the book and any questions or comments you might have about it. Thank you to any of have come this far. The book’s a hefty one but hopefully an entertaining and enlightening read.
It’s been rather quiet here on this blog but there’s a
lot going on behind the scenes…or maybe that’s screens. Anyway, I wanted to
update you a bit on where we are at.
I finished the first draft of the book. It’s back to one book instead of two which makes it a lengthy one but it just didn’t feel right forcing it into two. Four people read through it and gave their comments and suggestions. I even managed to get an endorsement from my mentor, Dr. Raymond Moody. After going through it a second time continuing to clean it up, it was ready for the next step.
As my choice is to self-publish, I went back again to
Amazon. They published my first book and it was a good experience. But it’s
been ten years since that book came out so things have changed just a bit.
In fact, they no longer offer any of the services a self-publisher needs in
house. They list some suggestions but basically, you’re on your own.
So, the first thing I needed was a good editor. The
search was on. Now…I know that one can expect prices to double about every ten
years but as I inquired about estimates for my book, I was shocked. At
approximately 177,000 words I could expect to pay $12,000 or more for in-depth editing. When I revived from my faint, I sank into a
bit of a depression. I’d still need a book cover for paperback and eBook
created and interior formatting for both formats. How was I going to manage
Well…as I wrote the book, I recognized a team of inner
planes supporters forming to help me somewhat like my first book. In fact, I
think there are some of the same helpers. I often expressed my concern about
various points that came up along the way. Over and over again I was told to
focus on my part of the work and they would take care of everything else. Okay.
So…I surrendered. I don’t know how to make this work but you do. I hand this
over to you.
And things shifted…
I was led to some very good information which led me to some great sites to consider editors which led me to one I was very much interested in as she had 11 years’ experience working for Llewellyn, the world’s oldest and biggest publisher of books for body, mind and spirit. I queried her and several others for estimates. The first to answer who not only loved the idea of my book but offered a very reasonable estimate for her work? Yep…my lady from Llewellyn. We started work yesterday (Monday, July 15). It should take about a month.
This is a massive project. It’s exciting and
nerve-wracking. But it’s happening…it’s happening. My hope is to publish before
the end of the year. Next, I’ll be looking for a cover designer.
I’ll keep you informed about our progress. Thanks for staying
