In the present age we are not thrown together by chance with other people. That the path of life brings us into contact with certain people and not with others depends upon the working out of individual karma. For we have entered upon a period of human evolution which brings man’s preceding karmic developments to a culminating point.
Think how much less karma had been accumulated in the earlier periods of earth evolution! With every incarnation fresh karma is made. I never had the honor of working with him or even meeting him but apparently that was part of the plan. A plan, or contract, we made in the life between lives. Now it is coming to fruition in the elder years of my life.

and harmony of the universe, dimensional change, parallel lives, love, loss,

Now in my elder years, I find what he posits to be truth: that our best teachers and helpers are those we call “dead.” My upcoming book deals a great bit with that assertion. In the dead we have our best and most important helpers and you will not misunderstand me when I say: In our spiritual work we may rely far more upon the dead than upon the living.
Just back from a trip to London and now in the final phase to complete the first draft of what has become a two-volume set of my new work. Once that is completed, I’ll begin the rigors of self-publishing so will still be several months before the set is ready.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to post pertinent thoughts about what might transpire after what we call death. The most important point, I think, is that the relationship between the so-called living and the so-called dead does not end. It should not end. What will the world look like once we awaken to that understanding?
In a certain sense the souls of the dead too need nourishment; not, of course, the kind of nourishment required by human beings on the earth, but of the nature of spirit-and-soul. By way of comparison, just as we on the earth must have cornfields where the grain for our physical sustenance ripens, so must the souls of the dead have cornfields from which they can gather certain sustenance which they need during the time between death and a new birth. As the eye of clairvoyance follows the souls of the dead, the souls of sleeping human beings are seen to be cornfields for the dead. For one who has this experience in the spiritual world for the first time, it is not only surprising but deeply shattering to see how the souls living between death and a new birth hasten as it were to the souls of sleeping human…
In order that we may really understand one another, I want to speak first of certain aspects of the mutual relationship between the living and the dead, starting with a quite simple phenomenon which will be explained in accordance with the findings of spiritual investigations. Souls who sometimes practise a little self-contemplation will be able to observe the following (and I believe that many have done so). Let us suppose that someone has hated another person in life, or perhaps it was, or is, merely a question of antipathy or dislike. When the person towards whom hatred or antipathy was directed dies, and the other hears of his death, he will feel that the same hatred or antipathy cannot be maintained. Good thoughts are like balm to the dead. No selfish love must be send them, no grieving because the departed is not around any longer; this bothers the deceased and brings to them a heavy burden. The love that remains and makes no claim to still want the dead here with us, benefits the deceased and increases his or her happiness. The fact that the dead live in the spiritual world does not necessarily give them knowledge of the world, although they can see it. The knowledge which can be acquired through Spiritual Science can only be acquired on earth; it cannot be acquired in the spiritual world. If, therefore, the beings in the spiritual world are to possess it too, they can only gain it from the beings still on the earth. That is an important secret of the spiritual worlds. We may live in them and be able to perceive them, but the necessary knowledge concerning these worlds can only be acquired on earth.
