This is a powerful quote from Steiner. Now in my elder years, I find what he posits to be truth: that our best teachers and helpers are those we call “dead.” My upcoming book deals a great bit with that assertion. As a foundation, we’ll explore how we can serve the so-called dead. From there, the work will expand to the ways the so-called dead can help us….and how important it is for us to re-establish our sacred connection.
Our attitude towards those who passed through the threshold of death must be the same as towards those who still live here on earth. Indeed, we should not hesitate, to say: Those who still live in the physical body are handicapped in many ways, so that they cannot live a full spiritual life, they cannot live it to the full. How many handicaps can be observed in people during their physical life on earth, when it is a question of recognising the truly great tasks of evolution — and still more, when it is a question of FULFILLING THEM! We may rely far more on the dead. […]
In the dead we have our best and most important helpers and you will not misunderstand me when I say: In our spiritual work we may rely far more upon the dead than upon the living.
It’s so important to pay attention to the subtle machinations of the universe. If we quietly listen, we’ll begin to notice the inner guidance there for us, for all of us, to follow. Revealing the path for us to take. I learned quite a while ago that I have a council of wise inner planes teachers who’ll point the way if I merely quiet down and pay attention.
So I finished the work with the editor of my new book and was ready to move into the next phases – book cover design, interior formatting, metadata and promotional copy. Since my first experience with the group that put me in touch with my editor, I naturally figured to go on to this next phase with them. To that purpose, I spent hours filling out their questionnaire, offering samples of book covers I liked, so many questions I painstakingly answered in great detail and saved to their site…I thought. I also asked my inner planes guides to make it very clear to me what the right choice would be. Don’t make me guess.
A week later when I was ready to send off all this material to the various designers, my questionnaire was gone. Gone. Hours of work just gone. (Please save the, “What, you didn’t save all that to your hard drive too?” I already feel like a proper idiot.)
I could feel the beginnings of panic but I stopped myself and listened in. I was guided to contact the founders of this group and ask for help. They had none and said they’d never had anything like that happen before. Hmmmm. Thank you, guides.
Then I felt a nudge to check with a different company whose work I liked and asked them some questions. They got back to me in a very reasonable amount of time but it was like we were speaking in different languages. They also had no phone number to speak to an actual person. Yes – I’m an old person who sometimes likes direct contact with the people who will help bring my book to life. Hmmmm. Thank you, guides.
In the meantime, I received an email from a different company I was interested in, had emailed and had never heard anything back from. She was checking back to see if the email she’d sent had answered all of my questions. What email? I never got one. Well, not only did she answer all of my questions but she also has a phone number her clients may call anytime. Hmmmm! Thank you, guides!
Her company is working on all of the above and will help me with marketing as well.
I guess what I’m trying to share with you is – sometimes those things that look like the worst luck, the biggest disaster, actually turn out to be your best luck, your path.
My book will likely be ready in about a month or so but I am going to take a little time to launch and market it better than I did my last book. I’ll start by adding a page to this blog just for the book and any questions or comments you might have about it. Thank you to any of have come this far. The book’s a hefty one but hopefully an entertaining and enlightening read.
